1. NPDL week 6

What have you achieved/learned/found out since your last post? This is my first post about NPDL, what I have achieved so fair is my research about Biomass. How effectively have you used your time this week? I think I've used my time quite effectively this week as I have been studying at home and having a study period once or twice a day. How have you contributed to your group’s progress? As I'm not in a group and working indepently I think my progress has gone really well and far. Glows: something that is going well in your project:My research seems to be the only thing that's going well right now. Grows: Something you need to work on: Adding more smaller questions that relate to my bigger question. Where could you get help with this? I could get help from a teacher or parents, or I could get more information on that certian subject. What are the next steps for your project? My next step is focusing on the proposal doc since I still haven't done it maybe also my next focus will be on a little bit more information of my previous research or adding some more questions and spliting it up.

Essay on 'Night' by Elie Wiesel

In the Holocaust memoir 'Night' by Elie Wiesel.

Three events that impacted me emotionally were Elie's dad getting beaten by the SS, Elie's sore foot infirmary and Elie's dad passing away. The sadness experienced by these people must have been horrific. In my essay I am going to use 4 languages that show this.

One event that affected me emotionally was Elie having a sore foot and going into the infirmary.

On page 78-79, in the middle of January, Eile's right foot began to swell from the cold and he could not stand on it, so he went to the infirmary. The doctor had then quoted "We need to operate! If we wait, the toes and perhaps leg will have to be amputated."

After Elie's operation on his right foot, next to him lied a Hungarian Jew suffering from dysentery. The Hungarian Jew had given Elie advice about the selections, he proceeded to say "Don't rejoice to soon, son. Here too there is selection. In fact, more often than outside. Germany has no need of sick Jews. Germany has no need of me. When the next transport arrives, you'll have a new neighbour. Therefore, listen to me: leave the infirmary before the next selection."

This has impacted me emotionally due to the pain Elie was going through in his right foot, it also affected me due to the guilt and grief therefore he couldn't move, stand or walk on his foot.

I have come to realise even at your lowest moments there are people out there that are willing to help other people in their darkest times.

My second event that impacted me emotionally was Elie's dad getting physically abused. On page 109 Elie's dad cried and said "Eliezer....Eliezer..tell them not to beat me...I haven't done anything...Why are they beating me?". They had beaten Elie's father as he could not stand or drag himself to relieve his bladder, his father was diagnosed with dysentery.

It has affected me emotionally as in his father getting beaten and diagnosed with dysentery, its an emotional scene as he passes away not long after this situation. It has made me realise how hard things were back in the days during the world wars 1 and 2, having to be sick during the times where bombs and guns were getting loaded and shot around seems to be hard to be in those shoes. It made me realise how mean and rough some of the Jews were towards each

other.

My third event that affected me emotionally was Elie's dad passing away.

On page 111 and 112 Elie's father was pleading out to Elie saying "My son...I'm burning up...My insides...".

"Eliezer...." he had also cried out before Elie had fallen asleep, the date was January 28, 1945.

Elie had fallen asleep and woken up on January 29 1945, Elie had noticed his father no longer in his bed but to find another sick person laying there instead.

This has affected me emotionally due to his father getting sent out to the crematorium and sadly passing due to his dysentery disease. This situation had made me realise how hard it would've been for Elie when he couldn't help his dad as the officer came closer and shouted for his father to be silent. This also made me realise how hard it would feel to find your dad or loved one not under the same bunk during these times as your hearing them pleading for your help the night before, also when you don't know where they've gone.

Monday 9 December 2019

Hi there, I'm here to talk about the gender pay gap.

The Black Ferns have been a very successful team, winning the Women’s Rugby World Cup a record five times. Wow!Despite this success, the Black Ferns have only recently become ‘professional’ rugby players who are paid to play rugby. Although they are paid, the Black Ferns make less money than members of the men’s professional rugby team , the All Blacks. This difference in pay is often called the ‘gender pay gap’ and it is not uncommon in sports. What do you think about this? Is it fair?

Comment if you think its not fair or if it is fair. I think it is so not fair that they are getting less money just because they are girls , I mean gender is just a cultural differences rather than biological ones to other people , I just think that the Black Ferns should get their payment that they had before the people that cut their payment down I know that they made $2000 a week but cutting it down so not fair.

My trip to Te Papa

My Trip To Te Papa

Hi There, I'm going to tell you guys and girls about my Trip to Te Papa!

The things that we did at Te papa is that my group did the Earth quake house ,the Gallipoli and the Marae.
The most best thing that my group did at Te Papa would of been the Marae and the Earth Quake house.
The best thing about the Marae is that its right at the top and you can see the whole in tire Wellington but you can also see the whole in tire people walking round in the building of Te Papa its Amazing. The best thing about the Earth Quake house is that the house has moved a lot closer to the entrance and the inside has changed and its got a new video but the favourite part is that there an Earth Quake.

I didn't really like the Gallipoli because its so long to get through and its a bit old fashion and I find it quite creepy, but on the bright side its quite fun to see all of the nice sculpture's.

People In My Group...
Ajia , Mauatua , Jessica , Lia , Avah but of course she wasn't there and Myself.

My trip to Capital E

My Trip To Capital E!

Hi there I'm going to tell about  My Trip To Capital E thank you , enjoy.

So on the 19th of November my class went to Te Papa and Capital E.
So at Capital E me and my class made music at Capital E and there were some different sounds and there's also old school break sounds and some other sounds too.
I was partners with Marama, me and Marama made some music that was to loud so we had to restart but it was still fun.
Mine and Marama's music started off with a nice clam guitar and some nice drums for the beat, then there's a glitch and then there's a cool break dance thing and then another glitch and then there's hip hop theme going on and then a fade out. You can only add 1 up to 10.

Here's one of the photos...

Hope you enjoyed reading my trip to Capital E.
